About the Artist

Connie Taxiera ~ Fabric Art By Connie

I am a U.C. Davis graduate with a B.S. in Textile Science, and have been quilting since 1985. Following my passion for color and fabric, I have been fabricating bowls for the past 4 years, and my recent vases, leaf, & flower shaped bowls are an exciting new direction for me. Any given day will find me creating in my home studio business, Piece of Mind Fabrications.

My textile bowls, done in UC Davis school colors, were chosen first by UC Davis's Chancellor Emeritus Vanderhoef and now by current Chancellor Katehi, to be among the tokens of appreciation given to hosts when traveling on behalf of the university. My light and unbreakable fabric art has traveled all over the world with them and others, always impressing the recipients with their beauty and uniqueness.
